What's inside a SIP panel

A SIP panel is a ready structural and insulated wall: two OSB-3 boards, EPS insulation inside, workshop geometry and joints designed for the specific project. For the client this means a slim warm wall, fast assembly and lower heating demand.

In a SIP house, fire safety is not solved by one material alone. We check the panel, timber, adhesive, installation foam and joints, then close vulnerable points through design and assembly.

01Won't a SIP house burn down?

Yes, we treat this separately. The fire-safety block above explains it: timber is treated with flame retardants, OSB, adhesives and installation foam are selected by declared fire-protection characteristics, and vulnerable joints are closed through design and assembly. B-s1,d0 applies to certified materials and systems within their field of application.

02How long does such a house last?

With proper construction technology, moisture protection and correct use, a SIP house lasts over 50 years. The technology has been used successfully in North America and Europe for decades. We provide a 10-year warranty on the load-bearing structure.

03What about mice and rodents?

Rodents appear where there is access inside the structure. So during construction we seal all junctions, protect potential entry points and install a metal anti-mouse mesh. Mice also do not feed on polystyrene. The advantage of SIP is that every joint can be fully controlled and protected during assembly.

04Will it be hot in summer?

No. The energy-efficient envelope works both ways: in winter it keeps heat inside, in summer it blocks heat from getting in. Combined with modern ventilation, quality windows and sun protection, the house keeps a comfortable temperature year-round with minimal energy use.

05Does it need ventilation?

Yes. An airtight house is designed with ventilation — fresh air without heat loss.

06Can a house be built to nZEB or Passive House standard?

Yes. The airtightness and energy efficiency of SIP structures make this technology one of the most suitable for nZEB and Passive House homes. That means higher comfort, a stable microclimate and far lower heating and cooling costs over the whole service life.
